Latest Data Shows Despite Large R&D Investments, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Companies Are Not Excelling in Innovation
On May 11, Innovaro Strategos and wRating released their latest quarterly Strategos/wRatings Innovation Index. This quarter, the report assessed innovation performance of pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
A review of our top 10 ranked pharmaceutical and medical device companies (see chart below) shows a collection of companies that have developed and continue to develop wondrous drugs and medical devices, saving and improving the quality of millions of lives. These companies delivered treatments for HIV, heart failure, hepatitis C, Alzheimer, Huntingtons, cancer and other complex medical conditions, and they are deploying advanced technologies, such as antisense, nano-particle and gene therapies to aid discovery and enhance treatment delivery. These are indeed some of the best inventors in the world. Unfortunately, their innovation performance lags significantly behind other industries that have appeared in the Strategos/wRatings Innovation Index, highlighting the point that innovation is more than technology invention.

Innovaro Europe, is pleased to announce a new pricing model known as 'Pay-per-Click' Established to further expand listed opportunities and remove market barriers, this new model is effective from Jan 13th 2010.
The newly introduced Pay-per-Click pricing will create further market efficiencies for Innovaro Medical Device Licensing and will provide additional opportunities for buyers and sellers to access the platform, thereby creating a larger online IP marketplace.
