Began functioning in 1946, Lek, a manufacturer of pharmaceutical and chemical products, operates as a global development center for products and technologies and as a global manufacturing center for active pharmaceutical ingredients and medicines. Lek is proactive in identifying, accessing and acquiring products and technologies that align with their overall strategic corporate objectives including therapeutic focus. Mr. Novak graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Ljubljana in 1990, and obtained a Master's degree in business policy and organization in 1993. In 1991 he began working in Lek as a sales assistant and product manager in Cosmetics. In 1992 he became the Head of the department and an export sales assistant in Developing Countries, and in 1994 he became Head of the Lek Representative Office in Bratislava. After his return to Slovenia in 1998, he took on the function of Sales Manager for Developed Countries and Western Europe. In 1999 he became Assistant Director of Finance, and in December 2002 a procurator for Bayer Pharma d.o.o. Currently he performs the function of Assistant Director of Business Planning and Analysis. From 2000 to the end of June 2004 he was an employee representative on the Supervisory Board of Lek d.d. In the period from 2001 to the end of June 2004 he was also a member of Workers' Council of Lek d.d., and since 2004 he has also been an employee representative on the Supervisory Board of Hotel Lek d.d. Ksenija Butenko Cerne (Member of the Board of Management)
After graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Ljubljana in April 1987, Ms.Butenko Cerne, LL.B. took a job with the Gradis Law Offices in May 1987. In 1991 she was hired by the Slikoplesk company as the Director of the Legal and Human Resources division.
After passing the State Bar Exam in October 1993, she began working at Lek d.d. at the beginning of 1994. Since then she has been working in the legal field, mainly concentrating on international business, status and regulatory issues, as well as industrial property law. Since 2001 she has been the Executive Director of the Legal Affairs department. After Lek became a member of the Novartis/Sandoz business group and a legal function was formed within Sandoz, she took on the responsibility for global legal support in the region of Central and Eastern Europe and at the beginning of 2005 was also appointed as Sandoz's Lead Legal Counsel for the Central and Eastern Europe region. On July 6, 2005 the Supervisory Board appointed her to the position of Member of the Board of Management of Lek d.d. She took over the responsibility for managing and ensuring the legal harmonization of the operations of the company with relevant local and EU legislation and for the operations of the company as a good corporate citizen, a member of the Novartis/Sandoz group.
