Development of a Magnetic-Field-Controlled Solution Microarray

Development of a Magnetic-Field-Controlled Solution Microarray

Full description

Introduction/Background

Microarray hybridization has become the key tool for high throughput genomic analysis. Nevertheless the hybridization time is long and the reproducibility is relatively low. The specificity is also often low.

Aims/Hypothesis

There is therefore a need for the development of improved microarrays.

Research

This new invention can lead to much faster analysis speed, higher specificity and better reproducibility. It can be applied to nearly all kinds of microarray, including aptamer microarray, sugar array and cell array. It should have the potential to replace most surface microarrays.

Conclusion

The special advantage of this methodology is to have rapid analysis rate, better reproducibility and higher specificity. It can be particularly beneficial on aptamer array, protein array and DNA array for SNP analysis.
