This technology represents an approach to explore the citrullinated proteome and peptidome in any biological sample, both qualitatively and quantitatively. It allows specific enrichment of citrullinated proteins and peptides from complex mixtures. The technology enables:
- Specific chemical labeling of citrulline in peptides and proteins
- Immobilization of citrullinated peptides and proteins
- Enrichment of citrullinated peptides and proteins
- Relative quantification using stable isotope-coded tags
- Visualization of citrullinated proteins in a Western blot
- Differential Gel Electrophoresis – DIGE
- Tissue staining – Immunohistochemistry
- Drug target discovery
